RE: look for

Gene,

Cook is a 6'-1", 190 pound "true" point guard with the court sense and
vision of Jason Kidd. He can make the spectacular pass and is a
wonderful open floor player. Very strong and very quick. Can penetrate
at will in the half court set, at least he could in college. I didn't
have a chance to see any of his NBDL games. Jump shot is horrible and
brings a suspect personality but there is belief that the time spent in
the NBDL has humbled him somewhat.

Whether he has Kidd's basketball intelligence and leadership qualities
remains to be seen. A lot of scouts thought prior to last year's draft
that several years down the line, he would be the best point guard out
of the 2001 draft. Which means he will surpass Tinsley and Parker.
Most scouts also thought he left St. John's much too soon which clearly
was the case considering he didn't stick with an NBA club. Of course,
the attitude has much to do with that it seems.

Think of the headlines he could make if he sticks with the Celtics and
realizes his potential:

"Cook Stirs the Pot" after Cook helps Potapenko to a 30 point evening
solely on pick and rolls.

"What's Cook-ing in Boston?"

"Pierce and Walker Feasting on the Exquisite Dishes of Team Cook"

"Cook is Serving up some Fine Offerings"

"The Lakers are Cook-ed"

a loose and aggressive squad of Kings tonight. I have trouble believing
they can do it, but they do have the talent and if Peja is back, they
have more than enough moxie.

Again, who is the little pg we signed a few weeks back. And what are
his main abilities? My brain is stuck on Omar Cook. Thanks, Gene
