"DE-fense, DE-fense"--oh yeah, they're doing that already...

When I realized that the game was literally going to be won or lost with
defense instead of offense, I relaxed. Weird, hm? But this is Coach
O'Brien's favorite kind of game to coach--a defensive orchestration, and
that made him the clear favorite. Detroit was playing like the Celtics did
early in the year--taking a LOT of ill-advised outside shots and hoping
they'd overcome the poor shooting percentage with tight defense. But this
time, they were playing a team that knew exactly not only how to defend
that, but to outplay them at that game.

The only problem was, the defense was so tough, that players on both teams
were quickly getting tires, especially after playing Wednesday then
travelling to Boston. If this is the way they're going to play the rest of
the series, we really, really need to win on Sunday--there'll be a lot of
back and forth between Boston and Detroit after every game after that. I'd
much rather go back to Detroit knowing we only need to win one out of three.

Maybe on Sunday, the crowd should yell "OFF-ense!"...
