Re: Delk For Daniels Almost As Bad As Anderson For Olowokandi Talk

It doesn't mean the Celtuics can't get Daniels, I'm just not sure that the two

up all that well for a trade. Perhaps Shammond Williams -- although there's no

for him either -- because his contract runs out after the season. Eric
Williams? Tony Battie?
Three team deal?
--- end of quote ---

It would be insane to trade Battie for a so-so PG/SG. He's the only legit
backup to Baker at PF/C as far as we know, or maybe even a starter, and the
best big guy defender. Obie would jump off the Tobin bridge if they traded
Eric, and Shammond, I believe, can't be traded for a while according to the
rules.
If Delk plays like he did last year, I don't see what he adds that Daniels
wouldn't. It would also be beneficial for reducing the threat of the luxury
tax. The question is whether the Spurs need him, and I don't know why they
would (in fact, why anybody would with his contract).
On that note, please someone tell me that he's better that what we've seen of
him with the Celtics....I hope there's some wise NBA rule that prohibits a team
from establishing a monopoly on 6-1 or so shooting guards who can't shoot,
pass, or dribble, to protect it from its own (mis)management? You know, kind of
like the "Cavaliers rule" which say you can't trade your first round picks in
consecutive years?
