Re: Sundov Leaning Celts; Rogers Offered Small; Songaila Make or Break; Strickland Gone

Wow, that sure is short money for Rogers, relatively of course. Wasn't he
expecting a good part of the mid-level from some team? He must be
distressed after seeing the money that the McCarty's and Battie's made for
occasionally showing up last year. Or for that matter, what Forte and Brown
make this year in comparison.

>Presently, the Celtics are offering the veteran minimum for a player of
his experience level, $1 million.

Then to pick up Sundov for >$700K

>The Celtics are offering Sundov $637,435, the minimum based on his
experience.

That sure seems like a worthwhile gamble for a young 7'2" guy.

It's also good to hear that Strickland could be getting a contract
somewhere. He was a great pick up by the Celtics last year and seemed to
always play hard without complaints. I wish him success.

So that leaves us with these guys under contract barring a trade:

Walker
Pierce
Battie
Williams
Anderson
Delk
VP
Brown
Forte

Then add, maybe:

Cook
Rogers
Songaila
Sundov
Blount

That's a 14 player team which is at least 1 more then they were saying they
wanted (Though VP will be on IR for a while) and doesn't include any of the
foreign and players that are on the Shaw's roster.

Since Blount isn't on the Shaw's roster do we count him as gone or is there
a chance he may be back? What about McCarty? I haven't heard anything
about him recently.

I hope that Battie is working hard this off season. He added some bulk last
year but started off with the bad ankle. The team needs him to come in ready
to be a starting center.

Looking forward to the game on tv on Tuesday.
