Thanks JB for such a thoughtful post. I've been arguing the pro's of this
trade to a bunch of Celtic fans who are crying about losing JJ.
How could they not make this trade?

I'm for development, as much as the next guy, but the minute Johnson
started sulking and the flak was, that he needed to be a showcase player,
not a complimentary one, we should have seen the writing on the wall.
One scary note; did you notice Anderson's quote in yesterday's paper,
when questioned about his performance in games we won, on the trip, as
opposed to the ones we lost? "If I'm involved in the game, we win." I don't
like that thinking. Even worse, I don't like it blurted out to the press.
Perhaps Kenny is seething over the efforts he has made this season and
hearing his name in trade talks. He wants to be a part of the Celtics
success and he's earned the right, but I wish he'd keep his mouth shut.
While I Iike Johnson's style of play; open floor passer and cunning
around the basket, better than what I've seen from Kedrick Brown, Brown has
seemingly worked harder in practice and impressed more with his defensive
efforts. As I said, we really didn't have time to develop both of them. As
for Johnson the point guard; Tammo pointed out, a few months ago, that he
really looked bad, in the middle of the break. Didn't have the quick,
descision making ability, necessary.
By the way, Lance, why do you say Rodney Rogers has lost his
rebounding mentality? His numbers in reserve minutes aren't bad. I think he
will be psyched to come to a contender and we will see a special player,
that will take small forward minutes, from Pierce and back up Walker at the
4., to give Antoine and Pierce some much needed rest. Tony is best suited
to the off guard role.
My one fear for the trade, is that O'Brien will get intoxicated with
Delk's three point range and sit Anderson, in favor of Tony, bringing the
ball up, passing the ball to Walker, going to the corner, to await the pass.
Reading Bulpett's column this AM, with the quote from Omar Cook's agent,
that we are interested, gives me hope, that O'Brien has eyes that see, and
the arrival of another, quality, true point guard, is imminent.
