Not a lot of good news today

Where do I start?

1. Loss to the Heat. Now it's very disturbing. Pierce
said it best in the Herald today when he said the team
isn't competing. This is really, really alarming. Obie
is either in denial or trying to avert an all-out
collapse with his "we just missed shots" and "we
played well" crap. You can miss shots all night long
and still not get blown out by the Heat if you're
playing tough and playing good defense. The Celts
aren't. And they aren't responding like they did last
season. I'm officially pushing the panic button. You
can lose the edge quickly--just ask Milwaukee and
Toronto, two teams who seemed poised to battle for the
Eastern Conference title for years to come just a
couple of years ago. Now they're also-rans. The Celts
better be very careful.

2. Wallace signed a contract extension before this
season. Ugh. You all know how I feel about this guy.

3. The new owners are willing to sign another player
and it's going to be... Dana Barros! I knew the
missing piece for this team was another undersized
shooting guard in a point guard's body who specialized
in 3-pointers. Are you kidding me? This is getting
ridiculous. Delk, Shammond, Bremer and Barros? When
we're already getting nothing from Baker, Sundov,
Wolkowyski and Kedrick? How much can you ask from
Walker and Pierce (Walker especially)? Is there anyone
who thinks this makes an ounce of sense?

This is all just so terrible. I'm so discouraged. I
read Josh's column this morning and he teased to Chris
Wallace talking about Dana Barros and I thought,
"what?" Then I read it in the Globe. I can't believe
this is Wallace's idea of help. Of course, there are
bigger problems on this team than the 13th man.

It happens so fast...
