Re: New Celts owners bringing additional partner on board; Bird hint?

I made the statement that Grosbeck wouldn't give up his "authority" by
handing the keys to Bird. In fact, I think it would be a mistake for a
owner looking to be hands on. There isn't any question that they are
looking for more "investors" to lower their personal investment however.

Bird doesn't put up his own money from what I read, so that doesn't make him
an actual investor. He is the basketball guy attached to a money guy.

This leaves us with a ownership committee now.

I have never seen a committee actually be as effective, right or wrong, then
a single individual who makes the final decision. This is what we have
endured since P. Gaston took over and why he tried the Pitino disaster.

I worry about a splintered ownership of big business egos thinking they can
run a basketball team because they can calculate return-on-investment. I
have never met an investment banker type who felt some uneducated jock was
more capable then they were.

Please Mr. Grosbeck, call Pat Croce. He has the money and the knowledge to
participate. He would bring some credibility to the management team, is fan
friendly, is player friendly and has shown he can work with business
partners. Please call him.

Peter made the statement:

One thing for sure: somebody on this list said the
other day that they didn't think Grosbeck would agree
to bring on Bird because he wouldn't want to dilute
his stake. Clearly, Grosbeck isn't worried about
dilution.
