Tonight's game - Lappy, would you take the points on this one?
Injuries, injuries. It's difficult to assess just how good the 5-11
Knick's would have been had McDyess, arguably the Rolls Royce
of Eastern Division PF's, not been lost to them for the season.
Underrated center Kurt Thomas, with 16.1 ppg, 9.1 rpg, and 2.1
bpg, has become a weed whose virtues have yet to be discovered.
PG Eisley has improved exponentially with 7.2 apg, and I have
always liked Harrington, although he is no McDyess. Add Houston
and Sprewell to the mix, and this is no 5-11 team.
We beat the Knicks by 10 points earlier this season. We won it
on steals/turnovers since even without McDyess AND Sprewell,
they bested us in FG%, rebounds, and assists. Pierce scored 46
and Houston scored 39.
Despite the Knicks being seven point dogs at the Fleet tonight,
this game could easily end up being a lot closer - maybe even be
filed away under the "L" column.
