Painful. I hate these kinds of Pat Riley/Mike Fratello, grind them out,
oh, so, painful to watch games. I agree with Kestas -- remember those New
York-Miami grudgefest that used to be on TV all the time? Mind numbingly
bad. If all the games were like this, I might stop watching professional
basketball entirely. I like watching good defense as much as the next guy,
but when goals are as infrequent as they are hockey, there's a problem.
I'd rather watch a Doug Moe-coached Denver Nuggets play the Washington
Generals.

Someone mentioned the refs, but they were consistent -- consistently bad.
Sometimes, though, all you can hope for is consistency.

I didn't notice the on-air needling between Albert and Fratello. Too bad,
because it apparently was more interesting than the game itself. Did
they have this "banter" during one of those all-too-frequent times when
they seemed to speak in hushed voices? They sure had problems with our
team and our stars (at one point Pierce and Walker had been "nullified" by
Miami. Sorry, Marv, do you know what that word means?)

And Fratello, at one point, said that the Boston coaching staff wanted
Walker to play more on the box and take less threes. Well, maybe he does
have an inside track to Obie, Lester Conner and the rest, but maybe he's
just confusing his own wish with their's. I'm glad Fratello's not
coaching the C's (or any NBA team) -- I've had enough of 80-point
"outbursts".

And ugly win, but they all count the same. I hope Obie's got a few more
practices lined up before the playoffs, though -- this team could use a
fine-tuning.
