On Friday Paul Pierce will become the 13th player in NBA history to have
two 2,000 point seasons before his 25th birthday.

The other 12, in order:

Wilt Chamberlain
Oscar Robertson
Walt Bellamy
Rick Barry
Elvin Hayes
Kareem Abdul-Jabbar
Tiny Archibald
Julius Erving (OK, its the ABA)
Bob McAdoo
David Thompson
Shaquille O'Neal
Vince Carter

West, Jordan and Bryant would have made it except for injuries.

Of those 15 players, 9 or 10 of them would rank on anyone's top
15 all-time list. The weakest of the group -- Bellamy, McAdoo, and
Thompson -- all faded in their careers. Thompson became a junkie or else he
would be remembered as an all-time great. He was washed up well before he
was 30.

Moral of the story: If Paul Pierce keeps his head on straight, he is on
target to become one of the great players in NBA history.
