"The NBA recently released the results of its new ''crunch time''
calculations, which use a formula that assigns points for how effectively a
player performs in the last two minutes of close games and overtime. The
statistic is designed to rank the best clutch performers.

The Mavericks' Dirk Nowitzki (272 points) and Steve Nash (264) lead, but
Pierce is third with 243 and Walker fifth with 236. However, the ability of
the cocaptains to save games will be tested in the postseason."

Just another gimmicky stat. As a "purist," I'm disgusted.
