the rooks

Interesting that with a flurry of interest in Cook and the ESPN board going bonkers over the elevation of Tinsley to starter that Forte had such a good night. He clearly does what we need a point to do: move the ball up the court, hit open jumpers, play good position defense, rebound, take good shots. He doesn't have to be a natural like Tinsley if he can keep that up. With any consistency he will be next year's starter at point; I think he's that good.

Johnson was ok; I think he will look better and contribute more when the games count. This was too much of a "gee whiz" game with Jordan and all. And Kedrick finally hit some shots. If coach keeps playing him for 4 to 5 minutes at a stretch, he will find his balance. Did you see that block? Not many can do that. With a running team, his speed will bring some easy baskets.

Generally hopeful, but still wishing Pierce and Walker would let the shots come to them. The more confidence they show in their teammates the better the team will do. Cheers, Gene
