ramblings

Since I don't put much stock in preseason records, the fact that the Sixers
won just one of their first 7 was meaningless to me. That is until they dealt
for Coleman. Philly couldn't deal away Ty Hill fast enough because he was a
"headache" and now they got a charter member of the Headache Hall of Fame.
Meanwhile they dealt away another of their role or depth players and another
future first round pick. Larry Brown is letting it all hang out gambling on a
huge C/PF combo but if the chemistry proves to be bad he may retire early. I
guess Larry couldn't coach the talent out of Moiso, maybe Silas can whip it
out of him.

Tractor Traylor -- is there a bigger waste of space in the NBA?

Mason will be a good fit with the Bucks if he stays clear of the Milwaukee
cops and even in the third and fourth years of his contract when his
production will likely decline he'll "only" be costing them $5 mill a year.
Certainly an acceptable trade off.

As for our boys, I think all this Eric Williams "defensive whiz" hype was a
feeble attempt to build up some trade value. However, I think his offensive
play has opened some eyes and solidified his role on the team. Eric can be a
major beneficiary of the team's upbeat tempo and the new rules as long as he
gets it out of his head that he's an outside scoring threat. His game is
driving to the hoop and drawing fouls or pulling up for the 15 foot shot.
Physically he's probably in better shape than before his injury so it's just
a matter of him going back to that style of play. He'll get more rebounds
playing that way as well. (Gee, sounds like I'm talking about someone else).

I don't care how many points Blount scores I still shudder everytime someone
passes him the ball. He rarely seems to expect it and is a turnover waiting
to happen. I want Blount to learn how to rebound. How can an agile 7 footer
not be able to rebound? If he can't learn to rebound he may make a good house
painter.
