    Yes, it is a bunch of crap, but I find the NBA All-Star game to be 
entertaining crap.  Watching those guys hot dog is fun.  Watching the West 
squeak out a 144-138 defensive battle is pure entertainment.    But I agree 
that the voting is crap.  I remember years ago that some writer made the 
following suggestion for baseball's all-star game:  have three separate 
ballots - one by the fans, one by managers/coaches, and a third by the 
writers.  If a player wins on two of the three ballots, he is a starter.  
Otherwise, the stars are selected from the managers'  ballots.  This stuff we 
have now, with fans voting 200 times each, is really crap.
     And I don't care about the numbers - I'd rather see Pierce in the 
All-Star game than Walker.  Walker, after all, is already a veteran all-star.

    And Dan, nice to see you back again.  We've missed your sunny countenance.
