Heh... your answer would be funny if a lot of sports analysis didn't
boil down to that. I'm really not sure about the causes of this, but
why do you think that people who are down on Antoine's abilities as a
player feel the need to use his deficiencies as evidence that he's
somehow a bad person?

Sure a both Antoine's mannerisms and his offensive inefficency are
annoying but he's hardly the power-mad selfish evil-doer that most of
his detractors say he is. 

I'm not quite sure why success makes players like Sprewell or
Bryant(who IMO are far more arrogant and annoying than Antoine)
impervious to criticism while Antoine's struggles are constantly
trotted out as evidence of his evil ways.

Any ideas?
