RE: Last night

I have no problem with a guy missing "good" shots. All players go through
shooting woes. I do have a problem with guys forcing shots like Walker and
Pierce are prone to do. If these guys would just give up some of the forced
shots to JJ, Palacio, and the centers things would be much better. I
guarantee if Boston had a Stockton or Kidd running the show, Walker and
Pierce would get the message about shot selection as they wouldn't see the
ball otherwise. I am seeing signs that Kenny is intent on getting other
guys involved. Hopefully it continues. Walker is functioning quite well in
areas of rebounding, defense, and playmaking. He needs to get control of
his shot selection and his desire to play playground basketball. Taking a
spinning, off balance one hander from the wing on a fast break with two guys
in his face is just too much to stomach as does trying to show up a rookie
outside the flow of the game. And someone please tell Pierce that he is
about as good a playmaker as Walker is a shooter. A three on one fast break
with Pierce on a wing, Kenny in the middle and a guy on the opposite wing
and Pierce doesn't give up the ball instead choosing to go the length of the
court, taking the ball through his legs in a crossover and laying it in. It
looks great on ESPN but it is absolutely pathetic basketball. Get the ball
to the middle and fill the lanes!

S. Marbury shot: 9/21
A. Walker shot: 8/20
M. Finley shot: 7/20
A. Houston shot: 6/20
L. Spreewell shot: 6/16
J. Kidd shot: 5/14
J. Mashburn shot: 4/16
T. McGrady shot: 3/10

Toine is not the only player to get off to a slow start shooting-wise. I
would take a few of these guys on my team even though.
