Re: Kenny in the Globe

Joe, you`ve always been so reasonably calm in your
approach to the moves, or lack of, of our management,
that I`ll take a page from your book and give the
benefit of the doubt in putting Forte on the DL. I`ll
have to presume that he is injured, after the breakout
effort in the last preseason game.I have to think that
no reasonable observer would consider Walter more
vaulable, or even Kedrick, for that matter.
As far as the signing of Strickland, I`ve always
liked his game and think you all will also. I`m hoping
he soon replaces Williams in the starting line-up or
at least is first off the bench and does the duty of
guarding the Ray Allen`s of the league, while giving
us the true third scoring punch we need.
Many posters have suggested this is a precurser to
another move involving Anderson. Short of being able
to acquire LaFrentz or even Olowakandi, to present us
with a viable "center of the future,I`d hold on to
Anderson. Hey, I`m even thinking of buying up a bunch
of cheap, corner, balcony seats and making up a bunch
of "Kenny`s Korner" signs to waive. If we have any
chance of preserving the spoken attachment to running,
unselfish play, that we Celtic fans admire, we need
Anderson to spark it and teach Forte and whoever, how
it`s done.
I`m hopeful that Anderson has finaly recognized that
he is no longer capable of being the scorer on a team
and is emulating his avowed idol; Nate "Tiny"
Archibald, who came to Boston late in his career. After
being the go-to guy for many years, he tailored his
game to his lower physical capabilities and raised the
standard of team play.
Looking over our roster, there is still a glaring
need for a rebounder to fill in at the 4. Palacio and
Blount should be 11th and 12th men respectively and
deservedly. We have three rookies, that leaves only 7
mature players in the rotation, in the tough games.
I`d love to see another move to bring in Michael
Smith, or Derek Strong, by retiring Randy Brown or
asking for an injury exception for McLeod.I think
there is a glaring need for that kind of toughness off
the bench.
