BSG Endorses Gasol, White, and Forte

glarson@(work).com WRITES:
What do you think the Celts will do w/ their 2-3 draft picks? What
would you like them to do? I think if there is any way to move up into
the top 6 to go for it. If you have a chance at a potential superstar,
then do it. I don't want Murphy and Loren Woods at 10 & 11.

****SG: I agree with you. They need to find somebody who can create his
own shot (to help out Pierce and Walker), and they need to gamble with
either the 10th or 11th pick because the other picks give them the
luxury to roll the dice with someone. Right now, I'm hoping they grab a
scorer with the 10th pick (Rodney White, Joe Forte or whomever emerges
from that group of guys) and roll the dice with Pau Gasol at #11 (and
wait a year for him). Then they should grab the best available guy at
#21 (regardless of position). They can still address point guard with
free agency and they have enough big bodies to avoid gambling on another
"Troy Murphy/Loren Woods" type that won't give them anything more than
Battman, Vitaly, and Blount are giving them right now. Just my opinion.
I might change my mind over the next four weeks though.

(Unfortunately it's shaping up that Gasol and White will be
gone before 10, but hey, Tyson Chandler might be available.
And agreed: forget using the 10/11th pick on a point guard).
