I was surprised to read, a few days ago, that in 1986 the Bulls (I think)
made the playoffs with a record of 30 - 52!  The last Celtics team to make
the playoffs were also high up on the list.

If this team gets in, I wouldn't take anything away from them because of
their record.  Playoffs is playoffs.  I'm not saying anyone should be
satisfied with it, but if making the playoffs means anything to you, the
accomplishment should not be qualified with any comments about the team's
record.

One thing I never considered is that expansion has made it harder to get
into the playoffs, since there are now more teams competing for the same
number of playoff spots.
