RE: [Celtic_Pride] IGTC down?
How about if Toine had only taken five 3-pointers, and posted up or driven
to the basket the other six times, instead of missing threes? I'm sorry,
Josh, but this is becoming a serious problem. And it's not just Toine... the
offense right now is set up to rotate the ball to Eric Williams in the
corner for 3-pointers. Think about that.
Whatever coach said three-pointers are "fool's gold" was absolutely right.
They're a low-percentage shot that should be used judiciously. The problem
is, they're easy. You can get a 3-pointer any time you want it, and Toine,
especially, is settling for the first easy shot he sees.
Do you realize Toine is on pace to challenge the record for 3-point attempts
in a season? That he will shatter Larry Bird's personal record for 3-point
attempts in a season? It's startling how many 3-pointers he is shooting.
Should Antoine Walker really lead the league in 3-point attempts? Do you
honestly believe that's a good thing?

It couldn't have been that bad a strategy -- had antoine made 4 for 11
instead of 2 for 11, and he and Randy made one in four free throws,
we would have won.
