Larry always felt that Montross was a much better player than he showed, but
that his situation -- with ML, and then the constant trading -- more or less
ruined his career.  He said there were a lot of guys like that
in the league, who never got the situation they needed to develop.  He 
mentioned Donyell Marshall as an example, at a time when Marshall
was considered a complete bust, on his way out of the league.  I wouldn't
mind having Eric on my team, with Obie-like constant minutes, etc.  I think
he would make a great backup for somebody if he could get into a groove.  

Speaking of grooves, did anybody read the article on Pierce in today's
herald?  He hasn't lifted weights all season, which partialy accounts for
his "old school" look.  Randy Brown thinks that when his scar tissue is all
healed, and he starts lifting seriously next year, he will be explosive and
unstoppable, a la Vince.
