Another rumor
This one from a Pistons site...
Draft Rumors
The Pistons are rumored to be ready to draft Pau Gasol for the Celtics if he
is available for the Pistons when it comes time to pick 9th in the draft.
The Celtics have had their eye on Gasol for the longest and would love to
take him. In exchange, the Celtics would offer the 11th and 21st pick. That
is of course if Gasol is at pick 9. The Cavaliers, who pick 8th overall are
also interested in the 7'1" forward.
Me again.... This one has some legs, in my opinion. The Pistons don't really
want Gasol, but are trying to leverage the Celtics' desire for him into an
extra late pick. Makes sense. Sort or like the money deal that Toronto and
Golden State made on Carter and Jamison a few years ago. The Pistons would
get a good player at 11 and pick up the 21st pick. The Celtics would get
their man at 9 and still have a pick at 10. Probably one of many things
being discussed.
