I agree with you on a lack of quality (and quantity) of centers this
FA market. However, even if there's some who is comparable (Polynice)
or better than our bunch, the question is "where do we find minutes
for him". I think with a healthy Battie and a promise by OB that
"Moiso will be better next season", I just don't see enough minutes to
go by in the C and PF positions, with Pot/Blount/Moiso/Antione playing
the musical chairs.

I think the Pitino days of extravagance (such like signing Carr and
not playing him) are gone and rightly so. I am begining to feel
Wallace/OB team is about getting the best/most out of our existing
resources/players before moving/trading for more - I always like this
approach (me being the thrifty type.)

I think every team gets a 1.2mil exception every 2 years. We've used
last year's on Carr, so this season, we don't have it.

I don't know the cap rules for a retiring player. I wonder how it
accounts for the cap in case Brown retires. Could somebody enlighted
me? (I am lazy to read the cap rules at realgm.com)

Actually, we are at Randy's mercy as he HAS the option on year 3 of
his deal (seems always Pitino negotiates deal from a weak position,
always getting the bad side of any deal - example like the Josip for 2
no. 2 picks)

When you say cap relief in this instance, I would guess you are
talking about FUTURE cap relief, as whatever salary (this season's)
you trade you got to take back the same, so don't expect our cap
position to change even if we are able to unload Kenny or anybody
else.
