RE: [Celtic_Pride] Re: Is Mr. Ripley in the house?

It seems the only way to get the best out of Walker is to completely turn
him loose. I don't think he responds well at all to coaching. You let him do
his thing--and I mean all of his thing--and you get his best effort. You
also get the ill-advised three-pointers, overall poor shot selection and
hot-dogging. It just comes with a good dose of scoring, big shots and tough
rebounds. It's up to O'Brien, Wallace or whoever takes over the basketball
operations to decide if you can live with that.

My opinion? (whether you want it or not) I love when Toine plays this way. I
really do. But are you going to build a championship contender if Toine is
your best player? I don't think so. And if you bring in a better player and
he infringes on the freedom Toine has now, will Toine revert to
inconsistent, indifferent tendencies? Those are tough questions. Personally,
I don't see Toine ever agreeing to adjust his game for anyone. But that's
just my opinion.

I'm still disgusted by the torpedo job Toine and Pierce pulled on Pitino
earlier this season, but I'll enjoy the good times while they last. I do,
however, hope neither of them are rewarded with all-star selections today,
because I hate the message that would send. These last 10 games aren't
enough to make me forget the way they conducted themselves earlier.

Good point, Jim. On another note, Antoine seems to have gone back to his
chest thumpin, walker-wigglin, trash talkin' ways. Could be a double
edged sword. He is a high energy player who was very contained in the
first 20 games of the season. While he was being "polite", the Cs were
losing handily. If the Cs start winning, will he be perceived aas more of
a punk?
