George Karl quote
Following quote is from a story on
espn.com:
Just watching Karl handle the early season trouble was an event. He ripped
into his players, wondering if they had the commitment. He lamented the loss of
role players who were so critical to the team's late-season success last year.
When asked if he might have an interest in coaching the Celtics, he quipped, "I
already coach a team that doesn't play any defense."
Interesting and in context, amusing quote from
George Karl. I've always liked this guy's personality. He's as straight a
shooter as they come, and I would love to have this guy coach the C's. When that
Sonics team made it to the finals in 1996, they were a Michael Jordan away from
a title, and in the two games they won against the Bulls, they were outstanding.
I have fond memories of that series: Kemp without the belly, when he had a game
and was about 15 kids lighter. Frank
Brickowski shoving Dennis Rodman into the second row.
Payton's "d" on Jordan in games 3 & 4.
Cheers,
Simon
