Re: Would you do it?
I'm not sure that Deke is a good fit with the Celtics. As a running team,
we'll probably kill him. However, I would probably do the trade. It
allows us to shed a few contracts and gives us a tremendous asset for
summer trades. At the worst we would be in a position to shed $10 million
in salaries and become competitive in the FA market. It would also help
break the mediocre logjam at point.
Two caveats though. I don't think it will help us in this year's run at a
playoff spot, and I'm sure the Hawks will get better offers.
