RE: seattle win
I liked this win a lot for all the reasons you gave. That was some ballsy
move, putting Chris Carr on Gary Payton first thing out. And yet it
worked...I would love to see Carr get more PT; along with Moiso, he's the
only really untapped offensive talent resevoir on this team. (I'm reserving
judgment on Chris Herren for now.)
I hate to say this and jinx us, but I really think we have a good shot at
beating Dallas and Houston, and stealing one of Portland/Utah/San Antonio.
That's just the feeling I get....I could see us losing to the Mavs and
beating the Spurs. Rep is for shit in this league; it's how you play that
night. (Grizzlies won another game last night - albeit against Golden
State.)
I wonder what makes us vulnerable to these late runs by the opposition. And
I wonder if there is some way to staunch it other than by taking three
pointers.

Did anyone see the game, any thoughts?
The C's played with passion, purpose, energy, or whatever you want
to label
it and equally as important, they were knocking down shots early on.
Quite a
contrast to the Vancouver game. They were up 15 after Qtr 1; and 22
at the
break.
I was glad to see Chris Carr get some meaningful minutes early on
(as opposed
to merely a token appearance long after this or any other contest
has (had)
been decided). He also played some pretty good "D". Perhaps he
finally
realizes to get PT he has to bring his lunch bucket and hard hat on
the other
end of the court.
Kenny had a nice bounce back game from the egg he laid north of the
border.
And as you alluded to - how about Eric Williams???? 13 points on
just 3 FG
attempts; a perfecto 10 - 10 from the FT line. That's what I'm
talkin' about.
Not only was he playing to his strength by posting up and taking it
to the
rack but more importantly he was knocking down his FT's. And the
residual
benefit is he was rang up team fouls on Seattle. Playing to that
strength the
remainder of the season would be a huge lift for the team off the
bench.
Hopefully, Obie will be able to incorporate him, Carr, V, and Herren
into a
cohesive 2nd team rotation. The question remains what to do when
battie
returns? Does O'Brien tinker with the chemistry and re-insert Battie
as a
starter for Blount???
Let's see what happens tomorrow night when they move another 200
miles south
to Portland. If it's anywhere close to being as beneficial as the
200 mile
trip between Vancouver and Seattle was, I can hardly wait.
