Josh,

I completely agree that Antoine and Paul are deserving all-star starters
this season. I still believe Antoine is only about 70 percent of what he
could be and he has himself to blame, but he's good enough even at 70
percent to be the best power forward in the East. The arguments for Shareef
should be settled with one quick response: the records of the two teams. Who
else even merits consideration? Kenyon Martin? Cliff Robinson? Derrick
Coleman? 

As for Pierce, he's not quite the player McGrady is, but he has done more to
lift the Celtics this year than McGrady has done for the Magic.

But if Walker and Pierce had exactly the same numbers and the team was
losing, I wouldn't back either of them for the all-star game. The difference
is the winning. That's what they're doing this year-rebounding, defending,
hitting clutch shots. Both Antoine and Paul have done all those things.
