Re: May on Walker

You asked if he'll remember, Gene? If Antoine, as some of us like to say,
"gets it?" Here's what Antoine's going to remember:

''If there was a big deal made of Antoine [going 0 for 11], let them know
that Coach O'Brien would hope that he would take every one of the 3-point
shots he took the other night,'' O'Brien said. ''And I will never, ever tell
him to stop."

> Interesting column. I agree. Walker is all that. After the Cleveland
game last night, we can hope that he gets it--that he will work the inside
and shoot around 5 threes per game. That, with V's ability to get us more
inside shots would be a great help to the offense. Again, our guys were too
willing to hoist the three before rebounders were in place and early in the
shot clock. That generally means the bad guys have a two in three chance at
an easy rebound and sometimes a fast break. It kills our momentum, blah,
blah--we all know that. Antoine showed the maturity to eschew that type
play last night. Will others follow the captain? Will he remember on
Friday? I don't think we'll beat Utah, Detroit, Philly, etc. without what
he did last night. Cheers. Gene
