Walker

To all those on the list who are proponents of trading Antoine Walker:
Be advised that the player or players that the Celtics receive in return
should be able to replace his scoring, rebounding, and passing.

Walker is the Celtics most consistent rebounder and probably the team's best
passer. He also is the team's second leading scorer. He is asked to do a
multitude of things on the basketball court. So, it would not be advisable
for the Celtics to receive a rookie or draft picks in a trade for Walker.

Anyone who needs evidence of Walker's value to the Celtics only need to watch
the replay of the overtime period in the New Jersey game. During that time,
the team was outrebounded badly on the offensive board by New Jersey and the
ball movement on offense was nonexistent. If not for the unbelievable
"Birdlike" performance by Paul Pierce (who was clearly in a zone for the
entire second half of the game), the Celtics would have surely lost the game.

I am not a supporter of the trade Walker sect on this list, but I would be in
favor of a trade that brings value to the Celtics. If not for his oftentimes
atrocious shot selection (which remains the biggest drawback in his game since
his rookie year), Walker could be a perennial all - star. So, Walker should
not be hastily traded because people on this list get annoyed watching him
hoist three pointers or dribble into a double team in the post. Watch the
many positives he brings to the game for the Celtics and appreciate him for
what he is.
