ESPN Insider on Celts' offseason

I don't think this has been posted yet. It's ESPN Insider's look at the
Celtics' offseason. They have nothing but bad things to say about the
Atlantic Division.

Boston Celtics

Additions: Roshown McLeod

Subtractions: Adrian Griffin, Jerome Moiso, Bryant Stith

Rookies: Joseph Forte, Kedrick Brown, Joe Johnson

The good news is that Red and the gang are claiming they got everyone they
wanted in the draft. The bad news is that that is the good news. There's
nothing else to report on a once-proud franchise that finished 10 games
under .500 last season and hasn't won a title in more than 15 years after
winning 16 in the 30 years prior. Royalty takes a beating again as the
Celtics remain a good $7 million under the dreaded luxury tax, but are
bracing for Paul Pierce's extension to kick in, which will push the payroll
to $53 million the following season. And don't try blaming Antoine Walker.
It was Rick Pitino who decided to pay Eric Williams, Tony Battie and Vitaly
Potapenko a combined $13 million per.

Grade: D When you can't remember the last time you made the playoffs,
standing still is really falling further behind.
