Both players would be eligible for the identical amount based upon a starting
first year extension salary equal to 25% of the NBA's cap figure for 2002.
The Boston media apparently is being conservative with their $85M projected
figure and the Canadian press apparently is using the SWAG method (Scientific
Wild Ass Guess) to reach their stated $94M figure.

Keep in mind that Carter will also make over $1M more in salary this year
than Pierce which is mandated under the Rookie salary scale.
