Re: understatement of the year
nice comments, Kestas.
I tuned in after the game had started and it took me a second to figure
that Toine was playing PG. I actually liked that move. The Toine in a
Nutshell bottom line for the game was: 37 points, 9 or so rebounds, 7 or
so assists, and a missed 3-pointer in crunch time which should have been
someone taking it to the basket instead. He keeps you in the game, then he
loses the game. He should get docked for throwing up stupid outside shots
at the end of the game instead of taking it to the hoop. Save that for the
zone defense ; )
Bryant Stith was in the announcer's booth for a long time and I really
enjoyed everything he had to say. He's a class guy. If they're serious
about needing a veteran presence, they need to keep him. And it looks like
he would be a good coach or broadcaster down the line. He thought McCarty
was out there so Obie would have him on tape to watch over the
summer. Actually, Walter has been playing a decent PF/C. If Jermaine
O'Neal can play center, so can McCarty. He's about the same size. Although
O'Neal will likely fill out more in a few years - not sure if Walter will
really beef out anymore (or less) than he is now. Also, the paper quotes
Obie as saying he was trying a "Toine, Center, and three 3-point shooters"
lineup - perhaps in anticipation of the rules change. He thinks Moiso is
similar to McCarty, in being a good perimiter player, but that McCarty is
more familiar with the game at this time (well I hope they're expecting
more from Jerome than that...) I'd remember more of what Stith said except
I was listening to the Red Sox beat the Yankees at the same time.
Paul got whomped in the chest and they should've glued him to the bench for
the rest of the game. No need to crack him up at this point. Considering
his knife attack and all the pounding he takes on a regular basis, give the
kid a rest!
