A Trade To Make The Celtics Better

The way I see it, the C's with Pierce and Walker, as the
team's two impact players will never get any farther
than the first or second round of playoffs, whenever they
actually make the playoffs.

Pierce and Walker are not in the same category as:

- McGrady and Hill (Or McGrady alone for that matter, if you watched any
of the Orlando/Celtics games this season)

- Iverson and Mutmbo (Centers receive bonus impact points)

- A healthy Mourning and Grant/Jones

And that's just in the Atlantic Division.

The Pierce/Walker tandem has to be upgraded, and with Antoine the lesser of
the two players, it makes sense to package him in a deal to acquire a better
talent or two.

The trade I propose is the C's send Walker and 10 & 11 to Vancouver
for Shareef and 4.

That's it.

Quite simple, but effective.

Pierce, Shareef, and an Eddie Griffin or Zack Randolph.

A very nice upgrade and a deal that moves the Celtics much closer to vying
for a title.

Griffen is somewhere between Marion and Duncan.

Randolph, well let's have BSG tell you about the Zacky:

"ZACK RANDOLPH -- A bulldozer ... we'll never see another Barkley, but this
guy's out of the same phylum ... might be more effective in the pros with
more space ... would definitely get 15-20 minutes on just about any NBA team
right now."

In time, both Griffen and Randolph will develop into All-Stars.

I have nothing against the Celtics taking a complimentary/solid player
like Battier, but he's not going to bring the C's anymore closer to a
championship.
Having three All Stars like Pierce, Shareef, and Randolph/Griffen will.....
