Celtics Sign Jerome Moiso

The Boston Celtics announced today that they have signed their 2000-01 first-round draft choice forward Jerome Moiso. Per NBA policy, terms of the contract were not disclosed.

Moiso was selected by the Celtics with the 11th overall pick in the 2000 NBA Draft, following his sophomore season at UCLA. In his sophomore season
with the Bruins, he started 30 of 33 games, led the team in rebounding (7.6 rpg) and blocked shots (55) and finished second on the team in scoring with 13.0 ppg. He was named Preseason Second Team All-Pac-10 and Honorable Mention All-Pac-10.

In his two years with the Bruins, he led the team to a pair of tournament berths, including a trip to the "Sweet 16" his sophomore season.  As a freshman, he was named Preseason Pac-10 Newcomer of the Year, All-Pac-10 Honorable Mention and was named to College Hoops Insider's All-Freshman team.

Moiso, a 6-10, 235-pound forward attended high school at Milford Academy in Connecticut.
