Hey if rules were intentionally broken, dole out the swiftest harshest
penalty. If McHale was directly involved shame on him.
I find myself agreeing, to a degree. Frankly, if McHale's actions
wrought these kind of consequences on his team, he deserves to be forced to
resign (I'd welcome him back to the Celtics, though). I do think that the
punishment on the team is extraordinarily hard, particularly when you consider
that other teams are widely acknowledged to have done the same thing, without
any consequences. However, if you're going to have rules like this,
they need to be enforced.
