Pitino conference

Listening in now:

-- pitino seeing red flags on defense, "it has to stop now."
-- staying through end of season for sure
-- loves the team as guys, but they have to execute
-- "we're like a team that doesn't have a whole of hitting, and the rest of
the lineup has to pitch in and do their part. Without defense we're not
going to get it done."
-- "we don't get it done defensively, come january, I'll tell Paul we should
hire someone else."
-- "I just want to see marked improvement in every fundamental and facet in
the game of basketball."  ex. of Atlanta game (passing.)  But you don't get
those second chances against Philly, Portland, etc. You have to do it in the
first quarter.  No 50% first quarters, no letting Juwan Howard on the block,
no figuring on winning by scoring baskets.
--"can't drive into three guys, you have to pass the basketball.  And
they're learning that, but they get too excited..." etc.etc.
loves the celtics, "got a lot of confidence that we will turn it around."
