Couldn't agree more. I think one of the more underrated aspects of the NBA
"golden age" (1980-1993 or so) was the competance of the referees.

Yep. When you think about how jacked up a professional athlete gets to compete
at the NBA level night-in and night-out it's a wonder there aren't more incidents.
My blood pressure goes through the roof and I'm just sitting on the couch.
I have no idea how these guys do it...

They are close. They have been close the past two years, but they are closer
than ever now. Confidence and chemistry are delicate things and one of the
hardest tasks in the NBA is to develop both in a team that has struggled for
years. Pitino did it in New York but he hasn't been so lucky here. On the
bright side, once a team has the right attitude it can carry them through
talent drops for a little while (I think the Knicks get by as much on attitude
as they do on talent).

Well, it was a holiday weekend and New York isn't far away.

The FleetCenter has dumbed down the fan base tremendously.
Boston Sports Guy (http://www.bostonsportsguy.com/) has some
good articles on this -- check out his archives.

Well, it's a little harder for Orlando fans to make it
to Boston. :-)

Ouch.
