RE: those bastards

I can't agree with you more on this. This was shameless hometown refereeing
at it's best tonight. Now admittedly, WE lost the game, not just the refs,
but they certainly didn't cut us a single break. It was disgusting, even
more so when you consider that Mike Mathis has been in the league 30 years
and made some of the worst calls.

Tommy and Mike also made the comment that the Sixers argued every single
call that they didn't get. You know what? They did. I watched them
afterwards and they always did, or had some sarcastic gesture or whatnot.
Antoine finally snaps after another bad call, and he get's T'd up
immediately. Johnny Most would've had his cornory during this game, and Red
would've come down from his seat for this one...

I'm also with you about the players self control. It is amazing. I couldn't
be that under control. How do they manage not to slam someone into the
ground? After some of the calls and some of those antics by the opposition.
I'd catch the next guy who drove to the hoop and drop him. Damn, I get all
worked up during pickup games at lunchtime here at UNH. I've stormed off the
court after some bitter losses. Won't even talk to the guy who works in my
office for hours if I lose to him. Antoine was screaming at the refs at the
end of the game and looked very animated. I would be too.

My biggest fear right now is that the team doesn't get down after these
losses and have there psyche destroyed.

This IS a good team, better than last year. We've got the Wizards and Hawks
this week, so hopefully we'll be back to .500 by weeks end.

Subject: those bastards

It's games like this that make me want to give up on this whole NBA
charade.
It's more rigged than a slot machine in Las Vegas. These despicable
creatures masquerading as NBA officials determined that Philly must go
to
7-0, and they did everything in their power to ensure that.

I've said in years past that I marvel at the self-control of our players
in
these situations - even Antoine. If I were Antoine, I would've slugged
those
slime so hard, Kenny's injury would look like a gentle tap on the cheek
by
comparison. Yet watch him get fined and/or suspended for his behavior
towards those *ssholes after the game. What about *their* behavior this
entire game?!!

Still, even those lowlifes may not have been able to do anything, had
Pitino
not unleashed the mighty McCarty as the designated ball-handler against
the
pressure. Sure enough, three consecutive turnovers later, the momentum
had
swung to Philly, and the refs took care of the rest. But Rick just had
to
let his favorite pet out for a run, didn't he.... Some boneheaded plays
by
Williams and Herren also didn't help matters. And why wasn't Stith -
one of
our smartest players - in the game during those critical periods? Where
was
Griffin?

Lastly, free throws - 'nuff said. Still, despite our 2-4 record and the
four-game losing streak, this is a good team, who, if they don't have
their
spirit broken by bad breaks and rotten-to-the-core refs, will win quite
a
few more games than last year's group. Cranks spouting nonsense about
the
Celtics having 2 NBA players on their roster and similar drivel, will
now be
out in force, but so what. The Celtics shut them up soon.
