RE: Blount (was Re: Drat!!! the team really sucks...)

I don't think Rick will give up on Tony just yet, althought there is no
doubt more interest in him that Vitaly. I think bskball is right in
thinking
that Rick would like an impact scorer. How about Courtney Alexander?
On the other hand, if Vitaly goes, we really don't have anybody to protect
us against the beef-barons down low. And it's not just 7-foot centers that
damage -- it's elite power forwards like Elton Brand too.
Blount and Battie do same to make more sense, though. You can't have one
guy making as much as Vitaly/Tony and not getting minutes, or one guy
playing as well as Blount not getting any. Blount needs oncourt time,
particularly to develop his offense, which isn't as bad as you might think.
But like Jerome, he's inexperienced. Anyone who has ever played ball at the
Y knows how hard it is to intergrate a low-post game into the flow of an
offense, especially when your teammates don't think of you as a primary
scorer.
