Bowen

Listen to TSN raving about Bruce Bowen's recent play in Miami:

"As the starter, Bruce Bowen has provided Majerle-type defense against
other front-line guards and has played within his limitations on
offense, shooting mostly 3-pointers. ... From out of nowhere, the Heat
now have a defensive-oriented guard who can contribute to the offense
with 3-pointers. He has proven to be a huge pickup. ... Bowen appears to
have become the latest in a long line of defensive specialists who
provide enough value on the other end with quality 3-point shooting. The
Heat have utilized this type of player for years, the defensive ace who
can hit the 3-pointer off the low-post kick out. First it was Keith
Askins, then Dan Majerle, then Terry Porter. (Even Eric Murdock played
somewhat of this role.) The difference for Bowen since he joined the
Heat is he finally has a pivot presence who can create those open
3-point looks, in Mourning. It was something Bowen did not have in
Boston, with Andrew DeClercq and Vitaly Potapenko, and something he did
not have at the start of this season in Philadelphia, with offensively
challenged Theo Ratliff. Bowen never has been known as a 3-point threat.
Even at Cal-Fullerton, he shot 43-of-152 (.283) on threes. But under
Riley, that appears to be changing."

For the season, Bruce is shooting 66% on treys!!
