Re: you never know

But one thing for sure is I'm usually dead wrong in my first impression
with uncanny accuracy, so in this sense the Moiso (eventual nickname: 'Zo II?)
draft looks pretty great already. And based on my other comments, Marcus
Viagra Pfizer and Keyon Drooling will also be NBA All Stars imminently.

I think when Paul Pierce got drafted, my actual first impression was along
the lines of "there MUST be a reason he fell this far" and "isn't he a 6-6
tweener big forward from the land of Toto?" And I was truly outraged that
Pitino would even entertain the idea of trading our entire 1997 draft to
rebuild around a 30-something guy like Scottie Pippen. And I thought Tim
Duncan would be no better as a rookie savior than Marcus Camby the year
before. I didn't think Larry Bird could or should be a coaching candidate for
the Celtics other than as a publicity stunt for the guy he would replace, ML
Carr. And last but not least, I thought signing Rick Pitino was the greatest
coup in history. Doh!

I don't know about you, but I'm starting to get pumped about next season.
:-) You're absolutely right. Time will tell. It could all finally start to
gell.
