How about this?

ESPN's Mitch Lawrence reports that the Blazers are willing to offer Brian
Grant and Bonzi Wells for Tracy McGrady. Now, would they be willing to offer
the same deal for Paul Pierce? Probably, and maybe even more considering
Pierce's contract status. The Blazers could take back some of our bad
contracts (where do I start?) because they are one team that can afford to
just waive players whose salaries remain on the books.

The deal gives us the power forward we need and replaces Pierce with a
similar power guard/small forward in Wells. Bonzi isn't Pierce at this
point, but anyone who watched Portland against the Lakers has to love his
game and potential. And we all know what Grant brings.

I'm guessing Portland makes the deal because Pippen and Steve Smith are
approaching the end of their careers and they need a replacement at the 2/3
positions. And Grant is looking for a place where he'll get to play. He'll
find it in Boston.

Any thoughts?
