Re: Walker or Van Horn - That is the question...

Good analysis. I agree on most issues except for the statement that no one
questions AW's toughness. I think this is one of his weaknesses so far, he
hasn't shown he can be a physical 4 against guys like Brian Grant. If he can
bulk up a little more and get more physical and aggressive to the hoop, he
could be dominant with his inside moves.

Walker for Odom would be more palatable to me if I were the clippers, than
trade the # 3 for a veteran 2 or 3.

I still would consider offering Walker and Anderson and 11, for Odom, Derek
Anderson and # 3, then if you wanted to trade the # 3 for Van Horn if you
feel he can play the 4 spot better than Fizer, Swift or Martin.

A 6'9" point can create a lot of problems.

Odom
Anderson
Pierce
Van Horn (Fizer/ Swift)
VP (also sign Amaechi)

Upgrades at the 1,2 & 3 & 5 positions

pretty much a wash at the 4 unless one of the rookies turns into a
Barkley(Fizer) or Malone (Swift/Martin), or the other direction, another
Battie. Yikes !

A couple things that have came out of the Blazer Laker series on how to beat
LA.

Better foul shooting wins games.

A physical 4 creates problems

A center that can hit the outside jumper consistently create problems with
LA's lack of a physical 4 when Shaq comes out.

A big 2/3 (Smith/Pippen/Wells) with a decent post up/slashing game can
create problems
