Some quotes from today's papers

``We're out of the Croshere deal,'' said Pitino. ``It was never more
than preliminary (talks). It was a situation where we called Indiana and
asked them, `What is it going to take to get Austin in a
sign-and-trade?' They told us, and we told them what we could do. That's
it.''

``I don't think the Tariq Abdul-Wahad deal is dead, but I do think if
it's going to happen it's going to take some time to iron out,'' Pitino
said last night. ``We think a lot of Tariq both as a player and person,
so obviously we're going to continue to look at other possibilities for
us to get him.''

``Boston is trying like crazy to make this happen, but they're going to
have to find other possibilities,'' said Paco Bellasen, Abdul-Wahad's
agent. ``It is not easy. They really want the player, but they have to
be very creative.''

(Boston Herald) Randy Brown, Chicago's starting point guard last season,
will be in town tomorrow to speak with the club about a free agent deal.
