Kenny was "Melonhead"
I agree that on a Pitino-style running team, Kenny Anderson is arguably
underperforming by around 40% in passing production. Mark Jackson was a ROY and
a 10 or 11 assist guy in the system. Was he a better talent than Kenny? Probably
but perhaps not.
The Celtics run, run, run and have guys that should be able to finish pretty
well off of a good lead pass. We have a pretty stagnant offense. We have a power
forward that is forced to play point sometimes to pick up the tempo. As noted,
Walker averaged more assists over the final two months (26 games) than Kenny
Anderson.
A lot of local writers say that Kenny was the only player on the team to
play well and live up to expectations last season. Perhaps that's true, but I
certainly share Josh's opinions on this subject.
