I'd say coming off the bench as long as Antoine is still on the team. As much 
as we all are not convinced AW can play the "3" and Pierce is more of a "3" 
than a "2", the team's best hope for immediate improvement is to upgrade the 
interior  defense. To do that, I think after long mulling over what a few 
others have been saying is that Battie should start at the "4". 

KA and Pierce in the backcourt, and a front court of AW, Battie, and 
Potapenko should be the starters.

Moiso would be a backup "4" in some situations, Battie could slide to the "5" 
in some situations, and Mercer would be that elusive scorer - designated 
hired gun if you will - that the 2nd team so sorely lacks.

The big variable in all this what happens to Fortson? Is he dealt and if so 
for whom? According to an article in today's NY Post, he turned down the C's 
7-year, $31 million offer.
