RE: Team Rebounds

A 'team' rebound is a rebound that no player gained possession of before it
going out of bounds. They have to account for this as in statistics if there
is a shot - there is a rebound. An airball is rebounded and even a blocked
shot has to be rebounded. They always seem to leave the latter out of all
basketball games.

Get this one, this is in the Sydney Olympics Satistical Protocol: the player
who goal tends' a basket also receives a turnover, as he, somehow, loses
possession for his team for at least a split second!

Could someone explain exactly what a "team rebound" is, and under what
circumstance a rebound is recorded as one in the statstics?

Thanks,
Dan
