Re: Front Office HElp???

This is not anti-Bird, but rather for taking things with a grain of salt.
Larry Bird seems critical of everyone and everything (I haven't read the
book, but heard enough about it). Being that there are two sides to every
story and Larry Bird's comments tend toward the more acerbic side, I would
take most of what he says with a grain of salt. It's simply his opinion,
his take on a situation. There are always two sides, sometimes more.

Bird does not always have a lot of class in his comments about others
(reference the DJ article) and tends to be simplistic in his view of
right/wrong (he's right and anyone who doesn't agree is wrong). I like him
as a basketball player, but I don't always like him as a person. Remember
his harsh sense of humor and comments toward Barkley at the Celtics tribute
to Barkley? He could have said something classy, but instead he chose to
trash talk Barkley and tell him to look up at the banners. It made me
cringe. I wish Larry would learn to take the high road and not comment if
he doesn't have nice things to say. Pippen is the other one like that. I
know they could care less about their image, media, fans, etc., but it's
always rubbed me the wrong way about Bird.

Don't get me wrong...I cried when Larry retired.
