Re: Sign him up

"Raef LaFrentz introduced himself to legend and rookie coach Bill
Russell, looking like a 14-year-old boy asking a girl to dance at a
party. "It was neat meeting him. I think having these guys coach is
really cool," LaFrentz gushed."

After reading that I thought of something. When Houston signed with the
Knicks a few years back, he said the clincher was walking down a hall of
Knicks legends (LOL--Must have been a small area) and seeing his picture
on the wall in a Knick uniform. He thought that was impressive. What a
terrific opportunity Pitino has and is throwing away. Imagine being a
rookie or free agent and being led into a room to be greeted by Red,
Russ, Hondo, Cooz, et al and be told what it means to put on a Celtic
uniform and carry on the tradition! Sending ML to Woburn, canning KC and
DJ probably wasn't the best start to such a scenario, but it's still not
too late. Unfortunately, I think Rick believes he can do this all
himself. What a shame.
